and we're super excited to talk about this one
um let's
you know just talk about a little bit
like we have kept you on budget
we've helped you to stay within your budget
you've done a good choice
of making educated choices in your wedding planning
and you have a little bit of money left over
and you wanna decide what you wanna do with it
so let's talk about this or that
let's make some choices in what we're doing here today
okay um
so I guess first things first
let's just talk about a fun
easy one
I have some specific properties in mind for this
but we'll talk about it that's let's talk days
not at the wedding days where we're just chilling
maybe the day after the wedding
we want to hang out by the pool
are we spending money on a Bali bed
like a Cabana Bali bed or are we spending money on like
taking over an entire pool area
which some properties will let you do
what are your ladies thoughts
what do we what do we think
it kind of look like you're doing the 6 7 there
yeah oh no
oh no hahaha
never again well
I like something for the morning after
you know like um
you know Bali beds at the pool or the pool takeover
that that can be a nice treat for your guests
when they know they can go downstairs at noon
and have a chair um
rather than like fighting it out
or sending one of them down to throw towel
yeah loungers um
I like that absolutely
prissy Jody what do you think
if I had my choice I would take over the pool
um just a designated pool for me and my guest
you know you can get a DJ
you can do whatever you wanted to do
I would take over that pool
make that a memorable experience for the group
that's a pool party on the day after
I like a party bed
I like a Bali bed because some of them
you can get a foot massage while you're lying there
yes I like that
after you've been in your dress shoes
the day before all day
mm hmm I think
I think the choice really comes down to
are we doing it the day before the wedding
or are we doing it it's the day after
if it's the day before I'm all for Pool Party Takeover
DJ bubbles and
you know whatever
the day after the day after it
because people get sunburn
and they look bad in the photos
true also true
or let's do both how on budget were you exactly
yeah blow it all out
and the Bali beds to me
like I am
I am a relaxing like I
I prefer if you give me the choice of like
party or relax I'm relaxed
so that's it put me in one of the cabanas I
we were just at in June
I was at Ava in Cancun
and we rented the big Super Gamana Bali beds
which have like
their own bathroom and their own beds
and it comes with that you pay money towards it
but the money is actually put towards bottle service
and like this
so you get your bottles and buy
you know of course
it didn't take till probably 12:30
and people were pouring liquor in people's mouths and
you know it was this
it was a blast we had
it was a party
those are really nice bollywoods
they are really nice bollywoods
those are really nice ones
yeah and also
if anyone wants a picture of Mario in a Bollywood
message me no no
getting a foot massage getting a foot massage
yeah and so
and so as Jody said
there's some that actually come with services as well
live like the Cancun is one of our favorites
where when you get the Bally bed there
it actually comes with a 20 foot uh
20 minute foot massage it's a 20 foot massage
there's no 20 minute foot massage
which is such a cool little perk
and a nice way to relax
and it is fun sitting there while
you know everyone's hanging out
and you just have someone rubbing your feet
it's nice and I
if you'd feel a little weird
like for the first
like maybe 30 seconds
and then the rest of it's there
this is fantastic they drape a
they drape a towel over your eyes
so it's not awkward to hide the embarrassment
exactly exactly
they don't want you looking at them
too personal
so now let's take it from there
let's take it from like
the pre party post party
let's talk about like
we want an activity
we want people to be doing something out
you know that's
and so if a this or that going on this
I'm gonna do 6 seven the whole time
I'm so sorry
it's that's
if we're gonna do a this or that that's
do we want an activity at the resort
or do we want a private excursion going off resort
I have so many thoughts on this
but I wanna hear your thoughts first
I think it'll depend on your group
and their comfort level with leaving the resort
mm hmm I've had great experiences with both though
and how far your resort is from
from excursions if you're at a
a more remote resort maybe you want a little activity
like a salsa lesson in the afternoon for your guests or
um bachata
then they don't have to leave you know
but tell me what the favorite
I'm team leave the resort um
I think a lot of times
especially with destination weddings on the resort
the guests don't get to experience the destination
so I'm all for like
a local food tour I'm all for hopping on a catamaran
just getting them off of the property
so they can see more of the country
absolutely absolutely
I think there's there's so many things
and I think this is something that you can do that
you know if
even if you're over budget
you can find some things to do
and then also you know
if you're under budget you can
you can there's definitely options
so I you know
on property I think some of my favorites have been
like Hyatt Vivid Grand Island
which actually is no longer Grand Island
now it's a Hyatt Vivid Cancun
you need to go somewhere else for it
but when it was Hyatt Vivid Grand Island
they had a wine tasting in there
and that was that it
was a wonderful group activity for us to go do
have wine maybe get a little overserved
and then go have dinner like that's
it was you know
a good time doing that that's
or if you want to do something that's
you know not an extra cost
they've got the water aerobics
they've got Unico has hat painting
that's all things that you can take your group
show up and do there's a Vila tasting at Unico as well
I I believe that's part of
like the included activities at the resort
so there's a lot you can do on property with your group
or you can schedule something private with your group
there that
you know might have an extra cost
and then doing the private
you know excursion
going off property I agree with you prissy
I think there's especially certain destinations
that it's just worth it to go off property
port of Myrtle yeah exactly
yeah hahaha
this I'm sorry
oh my god yeah
port of Myrtle is one of the best places to go out
properly it's such a good food city
beautiful and some good shopping
and like you you know
you feel safe walking around and it's
it is so nice being out there
and being able to experience the local culture that's
but
if you wanted something that was a little more guided
that's something that we can help you with as well
like you like
you mentioned the Catamaran Sunset Tour
is one of the most popular ones that we do right
it's the day after the wedding
by the way if you're looking at when to do this
do the sunset catamaran after the wedding
everyone is hungover the next morning
no one's getting out of bed at 8:00am
to get on a transfer
and sunset starts at three PM for pickup
so yeah
you have time to sleep exactly
so it sounds late but it's not that late
yeah they start mid afternoon
they come pick you up this
then you'll go to wherever the location is
you'll wait for the you know
to board the boat you get on the boat
the party starts there's drinking
there's food and then really
the sunset part of it is as you're coming back
cause they don't want you out on the water at night
anyways right
so it's you're already heading back to the dock
by the time that the sunset's coming up
but it's an entire party day afterwards
and you know
it's something that's easily budgetable
because we have a lot of our couples who
you know this yes
some will pay for the entire event for everyone
some will also say hey
if you want to join if you want to come do this
this is the cost per person
just let us know and we'll get it reserved for everyone
and it's a fun way for everyone
to people who are comfortable going off site
can go off site and people who are not
you know don't have to
also if you don't want one of those like
party excursions there's so many other things to do
we just set up a excursion for a group
who wanted more of like
a healing like
spiritual experience right
so we're doing sound healing
we're doing a mind ritual
we're doing you know
all these things that'll help them kind of
stay in the moment kind of calm down
you know enjoy themselves while they're there
very woo woo group these are my people
so um
you know there's
there's something for everyone
and I think one of the most important things
when you're looking at events
to consider things to do with your group
think of whatever you want it to be and ask us
chances are we can make it happen
if you want to go four Wheeling
if you want to do you know
zip lining in the jungle if you want to do
any of these things can be done
you know whale sharking
things like that there's so much to do
so when you're talking of this or that
there are plenty of options
on site at the resort
on site at the resort
um and there's plenty of options
that are probably included with the property
that you don't necessarily need extra
you know
that to pay extra for or there's off site options
I will say one caveat with the on site free
you know activities
there's usually a person limit on that right
don't show up with 100 people to
you know painting the hats at Unico there's
you know not gonna be enough there for everyone
that might need to be set up as a private event
but if we're doing it as you know
like a the wedding party or we're doing
you know a group of 20 or something like that
those
you can usually show up and just have a good time with
or sometimes
the people who have extended their stay longer
mm hmm so then you have
you know usually a lot of people leave on one date
and then you have a few people that are staying longer
and maybe that's a time where you say oh
let's get together and do something
since we're all still here
yeah absolutely
and I always like approaching things like that with the
hey if you want to
you know
some of these people are on their own vacations
at this point they came for your wedding
they're done with you they're sick of you
yeah
they don't want to see you anymore
they are there for themselves at this point
right so just a nice approach to that is hey
you know if
if you want to do this
we're gonna be doing this this day at this time
you're more than welcome to join
we'd love to spend some time with you
you know now that everything's calmed down
so I think that's a a
just a etiquette way of of
of right yeah
um cool
okay so now reset
we want to do something special for our guests
we want to do some sort of
you know something to welcome them
something you know
to take away something that's unique
so that's this or that that's
do you guys think you would rather do
like a handmade takeaway
something for them to to use as like
a momento for the event or would you rather do
like a welcome bag full of swag that
you know
for things they can do or have with them on site
which would you prefer spending your money on
hmm
some of the personalized things are really cute
like this is that hand painted from Danny Donnie
Danny Donnie yep
really cute I mean
I did I didn't use that
sometimes you know
you use the hangover kit for sure
you might need that absolutely
but sometimes the other little things
the little personalized trinkets
are really nice
but you can do none of that
and then and do something else entirely
yeah that's
you know that's I
that those Danny Donnie tequila
but can you hold that up again
Nikki the Danny Donny tequila bottles are such a cool
little giveaway you know
while you're there personalize something that
you know
feels like you put a little bit of thought into them
they do a phenomenal job
so usually what they do is they set up at like
the welcome event or they'll set up at the reception
and they come with the bottles pre painted for the
for the majority of the decor right
it's it's semi done
and then what they'll do is your guest will go up
they'll say my name is so and so
or I want it to say so and so
they'll finish the painting on it
and that gives them a little momento to take away
and they want to drink the tequila
they can it's
or they want to just keep it as like hey
a remembrance of your wedding weekend
that is is a really cool take away as well
I know Nikki
you brought a couple examples of like
some things that you know
maybe there's a uh
you do the cups right
you either do you know
like the full on like
you know like these or the little wine cup or
you know as
as Nikki labeled it her tequila cup hahaha
not for wine but personalized
yeah personalized
something that you can do there
that's pricing on that usually it's not that bad
that's when you order them in bulk
the pricing is pretty good
I actually just placed an order today
for another set of of bottles that will be using soon
so and some of these
like this service they're
you're not bringing it with you right
they're going to bring it to the resort
right so you don't have to worry about that part
that's a super important it's a really good point
Nikki there are some things that you can do that
they will bring them to the resort and
you know it's an activity to do on the resort
and then you can leave um
keep in mind
there might be an outside vendor fee that's
you know
and you want to make sure that you budget for that
but also when you do personalized things that you order
do not ship them from the States
to your resort in Mexico or to your resort in Dr
if you're going to do that
order it put it in
you know five different people's luggages
and bring it down that way
um but that's
that'll be you know
logistics are something to consider there too
that's I like
I do like the welcome bags
because that is a efficient way
to give them a little something
that they probably will use right
that's I've seen
you know there's things like
you know just sunscreen or bug spray
which is something most people don't think about that's
you know put
putting the bug spray in there
putting you know
the little ipads in there
then talking you know
hangover that's yeah
hi Pat aspirin um
you know that's
at any Alka Seltzer hangover
Alka Seltzer yeah yeah
that's let's be honest
that's your at all inclusive resort
even if you as a couple
are not someone that drinks a lot
there might be you know
some people who accidentally get overserved
or overserve themselves um
I can't remember a time that I've done that myself
but you know
you never know that's a
was it really an accident
right right
but that's you know this
those things that you have
that you maybe didn't think to pack
but all of a sudden you're like
oh thank god I have
you know some aspirin that
you know I can take or something like that
it's it ends up being a nice little gift
so kind of depends on where you wanna spend your money
kind of depends on on what you wanna focus on with that
but there's so many options out there
that's Nikki
you had that that engraving on the wood
um this was really cute
yeah it's the beautiful little coasters
yeah you know
and they they're like you
they go on the table at the reception
and there's there's so many different things
and you just what suits you
what suits your your vibe for your tribe
yep yep
I love it that's there's
it's a really nice way to
personalize something for the wedding
and I think that really works well
um okay
this is a okay
so this one we didn't know if we wanted to include
we added it on last minute
um this is
I always like to say you know
travel starts from the second you get to the airport
and you know
that's what that experience looks like
you know you
you getting to the airport
you flying down that's
however you wanna book your flights
however you wanna book your experience
um that's
I know us travel professionals that's
we will be in a lounge you know
it doesn't matter but that's
if you can get yourself into a lounge
it's a nice experience to start
um you fly yourself down
but as the couple as soon as they get there
you now have a little bit of control
over their experience after they arrive
so when we work with our DMC's
our transfer our transfer companies
but our partners that help us
get everyone from the airport to the hotel
as you all know if
if you've worked with us before
and you're listening to this
you know that we offer private
group transportation to all your guests
meaning we will take you from the airport to the hotel
hotel back to the airport
only with people within your group
no no strangers
yeah we're not sitting for
waiting for a bus we're not sharing
yeah we're not sharing
we don't share well um
so that's we
we can just your people now
because it's just your people
we can start the personalization immediately
so this
if you want to stock each one of those transfers
with a case of beer and a case of water
and maybe you know if it's a family friendly event
maybe there's some juices for the kids
we can do that
we can get that loaded on there if you want
you know this
you have some VIP's arriving
you want a bottle of Dom in there
we can do that that's
you know that's
so that's if you're looking at upgrading me
and maybe putting some drinks on transfers
I think that is a really nice way to say hey
set the tone for the weekend
especially like we're going to Riviera Maya
we've got an hour drive that's let's
you know put some drinks on the transfers
get the party started right away so
you know get people excited to arrive
hopefully they don't drink too much
and they have to stop for
you know a bathroom break
but that's it hahaha
that would be me
hahaha
but then there's also
let's talk about maybe even more of an upgrade
now this you would not want to do for your entire group
that's the cost would be astronomical
not to mention logistics
just to get that many transfers bye
we can do some VIP upgrades for maybe
your parents when they arrive
or maybe you know
a best friend or the the bridal party that's we
there's upgraded vehicles that we can do now
when we do private group transportation
what that means is that it's usually like
a transfer van that you know
that's we're loading everyone up on and we're gonna uh
you know get everyone there comfortably
they're usually newer vans
the companies that we work with are
are you know
nice new vans we're not
you know getting on something that's too dated
um but you want them to roll up in a Escalade
or you want them to roll up in a Navigator
that's we can do that
we can upgrade you know
to more of a luxury experience
I for one
again just spoiled travel advisor at this point really
it's it's
send me the Navigator that's I
that's I
I don't care if it's a 20 minute drive
I wanna be in my own massage seat
air conditioning and listen
I rode in a van for 19 years of my life
I I don't
I don't want the van like
don't give me the van I don't care if it's just me
Mario this is for you
when you send me places don't don't
don't send me the van
send me a nice SUV
but don't send me the van
like now
let's say let's say at the same time
your entire group
your entire bridal party is arriving at the same time
right
we could I accidentally booked this for myself to
for a 15 minute drive I was trying to get the Navigator
and I ended up getting the stretch limo
party bus yes right
that's if you wanna arrive in a limo with
you know I had full on Mexican decor
well that's also good for your Bach parties
Bach parties yeah
you know tequila bottles
there was a disco ball
I was having a grand old time in the back of the limo
all by myself
I'm pretty sure I booked the regular luxury transfer
and they upgraded you I think they up
I think they ran out of the
the upgraded one they probably were just show
showing you like hey
you never booked this why don't you right
yeah and probably cause like
I'm doing the transfers yeah
they start yeah
so those are things that
even before they arrive to the resort
we can look at you know
starting to personalize the experience
starting to make sure that
that they're you know
arriving in style or arriving well hydrated or
you know whatever it is it's
but this or that just around the table
since we're all talking about it
let's start with Nikki this or that
drinks on the transfers or upgraded transfers of VIP
I take drinks
I agree drinks
even if it's water after a long flight
it's water
cause you might have a bottle of water with you
but how long have you had that bottle of water with you
I just want a fresh cold one
yeah yup true
that's prissy what do you think
I want both of them I
I want a I want a
I want a SUV
and I want either some rose or some tequila
I want both of them I don't even want the water
I don't want the water
drink me greet me with a drink like yes
I love that yes
that's I
I am gonna say for the group
a nice economical way to start
you know start setting the tone immediately
is the drinks on the transfer
yeah um
that's the the upgraded luxury transfers
it is a mint it is not a cheap upgrade um
but it is something that you know
maybe
if you have a VIP or two that you want to do that for
that's it's an option
the drinks on the on the transfers though
that's an easy one it's an easy win
um they are not expensive at all
I think I think the
the upgraded like vehicle for your in laws
for your in laws
butter up a little bit there
yeah absolutely it's
um and
like you
what's that let's do this or that for entertainment
sure yeah yeah
it's so let's yeah
entertainment now
there's so many different options for entertainment
right there's god
there's like
we can start off let's look at the reception
let's start reception um
start backwards the
if you're at the reception and you want to
you know pick up the party a little bit
there's a couple things that you can do
so let's say
let me give you two choices
it's would you rather
like a mariachi group come in
or would you rather
or a local tequila robot
the robot is scary
I think mature groups might appreciate the mariachis
especially but
and we've seen the all female mariachi
yes um
younger groups they love that robot
that robot's yeah
this he is there to get the party started
I think that's you know it's
it's an interesting choice um
and I would say not all robots are created equal
but yeah yeah um
do you remember that mentalist we had
he was cool
that was crazy yeah
it was scary like
yeah it was
so there was a there's a mentalist
he's a mind reader
he goes around to tables and entertains your guests
during like
the reception or a cocktail hour
maybe your welcome party
this is a great way to break the ice
um
like it
that was crazy yeah
I would it's just a lesson Learned
because we were the ones that booked that right
that was that was for one of our retreats
and I think lesson Learned for us is
the mentalist during the reception
brings it down a little bit
it you know
cause everyone's sitting around watching him and
you know it gets a little quiet it
he's fascinating
but I probably wouldn't do it for the reception anymore
I think I would do mentalist for like
welcome party yeah
like it's
cause it's welcome party it's meant to be a
you know a cocktail kind of icebreaker
yeah yeah
so it's cool to get everyone kind
of involved and engaged
and I think that's a great way to do that
is that Mentalist mm hmm
that's um entertainment
uh give me some others that's
oh my one
fire dancers those sexy Molly dancers
I love those yeah
okay so let's talk elements
fire dancers or water drums
oh fire dancer
I'm I'm doing the fire dancer
I I love when they do the little
they are literally
it almost looks like fireworks surrounding the couples
I don't know what it's called
but like
I like it a lot yeah
the fire dancers I'm a worry wart
so the fire dancers is just pure anxiety for me
oh my god
this person's gonna kill themselves or kill one of us
that's a Michael Jackson moment
the hair is gonna catch on fire
yeah water drums
water drums I think
are so cool and I like it when they pull in the couple
and you'll see the bride in her full gown
beaten on the water drums
like I think that's just cool
that is cool yeah
that's those are good ones
um oh god
there's so much for entertainment that's
if we were to do okay
are we doing DJ are we doing live band
oh hmm
ban me um
I I want the ban
always just like
live band when they're doing the covers and like
it gets everybody up
it's almost like you're at a concert within the wedding
give me the band and they have some good bands out here
like it's hard to ignore live music
mm hmm yeah
they have really good bands and
and usually if we ask for it
we can get you know
preview videos and YouTube examples of
you know bands
and you can usually send your music ahead of time
and
they'll make sure that they're all prepped to play it
and things like that one thing to keep in mind is
the band sets
are typically broken down into 45 minute sets
so
you'll need to make sure that you're planning for that
along the way in your um
in your uh
reception 45 minute set
15 minute break are you doing anything those 15 minutes
or is everyone just chilling
and then they'll pick up again for 45 minutes
I've had couples you know
use them all night long you know
it's hire them for four 45 minute sets
it's not a small Bill but it's
it's definitely worth the money
I think that is an awesome
just hear that um
DJs do a phenomenal job too
and they'll keep things moving
and especially if they have an MC with them
you know they do a great job
but that live band is such a unique thing
and I think people
it's a thing that I think people think they can't get
when they're you know
in Mexico or the Dr they think it's not an option
and it's very much so an option
at most of these properties
you can get you know
someone in there
or a couple different choices for people to come in
that was a good one Nikki
um okay
let's see let's talk about your stay right now
this is a
this is one that I like to talk to my couples about
from the very beginning
when we're starting to look at room block contracts
and what we're you know
looking to um
to confirm you know
for your room your specific room as the couple
now I'm gonna pose the question to you ladies first
and then I'll weigh in but this or that baller room
from the beginning we know we want the master suite
unique whatever
or do we want a you know
a room that we think will be comfortable in
and wait for the upgrade if
if an upgrade is offered
as part of your room block contract
uh let's start with Prissy
what do you think book the room that you want
um I am the type of person
once it's in my mind it has to happen
so if it doesn't happen my entire week is ruined
so book the room that you want
also with upgrades a lot of times
the upgrades don't go up
to those really nice categories
that you want anyway
so book what you want yep absolutely
Nikki what do you think
I think it you know
book the bigger room
especially if you or the groom are getting ready
need somewhere to get ready
because not every resort has a bridal suite um
or somewhere for the groom
that room will benefit you a few ways
you know if you need it um
and it might not be available available
like those good categories sell out
you'd be surprised but otherwise
look the
the next room you would like if
you know
don't count on that
Ocean View upgrade and book the tropical resort view
no that
you know this is
this is your wedding this is your wedding
you need space to get ready
you might have other people
that need space to get ready
you might need your girls to come in
and help you with things
your guys to come in and help you with things
I think you know
The Better Room has its needs some
yeah yeah
Jody what do you think
I like a nice room and if this is my special day
I would like you know
to go all out however
is this where I'm going to do my wedding
and my honeymoon
or am I going to just go all out for just the way
you know like are
it depends on how you're breaking your stay up
yep absolutely
and so I think there's probably four different things
that we are gonna talk about here on
on things to consider when we're doing ballroom or comp
upgrade right
that's you know
prissy is book the room
that you're gonna be comfortable in
don't miss out on that
Nikki is talking about getting ready
and making sure that you have room for
you know for getting ready
you're talking about are you extending your stay
and is that you know
what does that look like
my consideration with it is gonna be
do you want your room to be the entertainment room
or do you want your room to be just
you know home base and
and then we move on from there
if you have a bridal suite at the
at the resort and you are not someone
that is gonna want people in your room
on a regular basis go with the lower room
something you're like Percy said
something you're comfortable in
but something that can be upgraded if
you know if an upgrade comp is available
if you're someone like like
will and I we love to entertain
that's so you know it if
even if we're at a resort
at some point
we're probably gonna invite a couple people to the room
have some more drinks you know
if we have a swim out
then everyone can jump in the swim out
if you know
we have a presidential we got
you know everyone hanging out in the living room
something like that um
but you're also probably not gonna avoid people
almost every night coming back to your room
if you do have that killer master suite with the spa
people will be in your room
yes people will be in your room
yeah they will be in your room
um so
it just depends on your personality
and what you're expecting
because like Joe
I think what Jody was talking about is like
okay well let's
let's take a nice room at this resort
and then after the wedding
we go to maybe another resort
yeah possibly in the baller room by ourselves
well and so that leads us into our next one right
so let's let's talk about that
your stay as a whole this is something to consider
this or that right
is gonna be
are you staying at your host resort for seven days
you're there you know
you have to arrive two to three days before
based on your wedding contract
then you of course
have the wedding events you know
a welcome day and and wedding itself
and then are you staying a couple days afterwards
to hang out with your people and
you know
spending time with everyone that traveled with you
or are you then leaving at that point
going to another resort all by yourself
not necessarily as a full on honeymoon
but maybe as just a decompress
step away enjoy
you know newly married life
yeah um
this is you know
so this or that so let's start Jodie
that's would you do seven days on property
being there with your people afterwards
or would you be you know
stepping off resort going somewhere else
uh for the last couple days
I think I would stay and
I would spend the time with the family and friends
that invested in me to be there
I think that's
that's a better way to decompress in my book
yep okay Nikki
what about you I think I would leave because I
they would have enough of me and my husband by then
hahaha
you know it's fine for
it's fine for guests to stay longer than you
yep so it's okay
cause they also want some vacation
that's not the wedding experience sometimes
so um
yeah no
I think I would go
and I have one place in mind I would go to
hmm wow
where would you go wow
look that Zoe tree that we saw in putacana
oh
yeah so we
we did what we um
for those listening that's
you know for those uh
in summer of 20 what year we in
in summer of 26 we uh
went on a Dr like
massive tour our
our team went
and just checked out as many properties as we could um
and one of them was a zoetry
and I I have to agree with you Nikki
this it almost kind of felt like a treehouse
that you were staying in yes
like oh
adult treehouse vibes yeah
very lush there's
you know after everything you're at
you need to rest you need to be together
this is this is the calm place
like we all walked in and we were like huh
yeah it really
it really did it just
you immediately felt you were in the tropics
I will tell you one thing with Zoe
it was like you're you're in Dr
you're in you know the the
it feels a little bit more
not wooded that's not right
the right word but lush
yeah yeah
um tropical yeah
it's um
but it is just like adultery house
is what I got from that like
just chill relax
immediately
you could feel everything kind of relaxing a little bit
and I think that was phenomenal
it was amazing mm hmm yeah
prissy what about you
I am leaving you and
I'm going I think it's it's
it's a hard sale for me like
a lot of couples want to stay with the group
but I think it's something that needs to be considered
like I know me
when I get married my
the resort I want
is going to price out everybody that I know
so I would save that for the back end to
just after the wedding
I would go do a minimoon there one
just so I can get what I want
but also to just get a break from the full week
yep yes yep
I'm gonna break mine into first wedding
and second wedding hahaha
so I will say will and I we got married in 2017
we did we stayed on property with everyone that came
I mean we had like
my great aunt and uncle came
uh huh so we had
you know we had some people that we want to make sure
that we spend a little bit of time with um
and so we you know uh
we did stay on property it was great
and we have some amazing memories from those days
afterwards
cause you're not thinking about the wedding anymore
you actually get to be you know
present with the people that are
are there with you we got to still enjoy the flowers
yep yep
oh god those flowers stayed in my room for days
it's
it's for those of you that had never met my husband
my husband was the cheapest man that you will ever meet
and he was so it's those
those flowers were a last minute add
I'm talking like the week before we added them
do as I say not as I do
don't do that but this
you know we
we added those flowers last minute
and he did take them from the Hoopa
and they moved them to our
our bedroom
and they stayed in our bedroom the rest of the time
just to look at you yeah
uh huh we fulfilling their destiny
yeah we got our money's worth out of those flowers
um I would say nowadays it's
if I ever went down the marriage route again
I um
would
being a spoiled travel advisor at this point I would do
be there a few days before
for people that wanna come in beforehand
do the uh uh
wedding and then I wanna go somewhere and just chill
and I think my choices for stepping out
and doing something different
is gonna be LA casa de La Playa
yes yes
and
for those of you that want to talk about Costa Del Sol
I will talk to you all day long about it
because it is everything that luxury should be
everything that I would want out of a
a stay um
and then or I would go to one of the chalet resorts
this year I went and experienced chalet
it is EP
and for those of you that haven't heard it before
EP is European plan it's not all inclusive
but it is so relaxing and so Zen and
you know like
the chable Maroma was just this beautiful
beautiful property and your room is enclosed by
you know the
the jungle but it's all open
and it's like a 2,000 square foot room
it's ridiculous the
the base room is so big um
very like
white sand beaches or you go over to Chable Yucatan
which is it's closer into like um
well into the Yucatan area of Mexico
um but it is
it feels so like Hacienda
like this huge expansive property
and you're sitting down with an abuela and making
you know your morning uh
tostadas and you're
you know making your own chocolate
and getting on your bikes
that are included in your room
and you're you know
biking around the property
it's a way for you and your new spouse
to be able to just kind of relax
enjoy the property immerse yourselves in one
and you know what like
and you can always say like
leaving is traditional
because when you go to a regular wedding yup
you know the bride and groom
or groom and groom and bride and bride
they peace out at the reception
you know so yeah
like uh
we're being traditional on this part
we're out of here yeah
and I think that's a really good point
Nikki is you almost experience some
some guilt that you know
you you feel like you should stay
but just like picking the resort
just like deciding if you want to do a
destination nation wedding or not
this is your wedding so do
do what it is that you think you're gonna Wanna do
if you think you're gonna be all done
peace out I
it's time for me to disconnect
go and don't feel guilty about it
and you gave give people
at least three nights of an amazing time together
and then go and do your own thing if you prefer that
you just want to be surrounded by your family
and your people and your friends
and that's stay on property
and that's
we'll make sure we find a property that works
both those things right
we we
you know the exact success this
I'm just gonna call this episode 6 7 that's a
do it
but there's you know
there is a solution for all of that out there
and I think
there's so many different places that you can go
that just
you know it's
we can you never wanna leave
just ask just ask if you have ideas
just ask cause we have ideas
absolutely
