so this you know
we've spent a couple episodes talking about
wedding budget what to plan for
you know what kind of expenses are gonna come up as
as we go and now
we've worked so hard on keeping your budget in line
let's talk about blowing your budget
and some of the extras
and some of the things that you can
you can add on
that really is just gonna set your wedding apart from
like the standard
like plug and go
cookie cutter wedding right
it's and
you know we were talking about this beforehand
and there's you know
in all the industry events that we attend
in all the you know
weddings that we plan and
and you know
we either get to be there on site with the couple or
you know we get the
the recap afterwards
there's so many of these fun things that
you know really just kind of blows the the
the guest expectations out of the water
and so we want to share some of those with you
and talk about some of the options that are out there
that you may not know are out there
some things that you want to consider
and some things
that you may want to build into your budget
so that it doesn't completely blow it out of the water
right that's
so I think first up
let's talk about arrival and just getting on site
right that's so
that's prissy
can you talk to us a little bit about Club Mobile
oh I can
so Club Mobay is a fast track VIP arrival in Jamaica
so once you get off the plane
they are gonna meet you
they're gonna have a sign with your name on it
and the fun part is you get to skip
in front of everyone else standing in line
if you've ever been to Jamaica
you know it gets crowded in the arrival hall
so you get in front of everybody
they grab your bags then they take you to this lounge
where you can snack on um
beef patties and Jamaican rum punch
and you'll wait there for a couple of minutes
until your driver comes and get you
then you'll go to the resort
so I definitely recommend anybody going to Jamaica
definitely splurge for Club Mobay
I like beef patties and rum punch so
and skipping people in line because you don't like line
absolutely absolutely
uh Nikki
can you talk to us about VIP arrival in Dr
VIP arrival in Dr um
kind of works the same way
it depends on your terminal
so it can be a little bit inconsistent
we would check your airline
and see which one you're arriving on
but what they do is pretty much the same thing
the representative comes and
and takes your luggage your tickets for your bags
and puts you in a nice little lounge area
and then they collect your bags
you get to skip again and you're
next thing you know you're with your driver
because time went by quickly
having that drink hahaha I
I just so I haven't
I don't make it to Jamaica as often as I
you know as I would like to
but Dr I've done the VIP arrival in Dr
and it really is just it makes you feel
you know
it's like your entire arrival experience is curated
you got a representative there from
you know from the airport
that is making sure that they're guiding you
all the way through the process
and all the wait times that you would normally have
while you're standing in line
you're able to you know
like you said Nikki
kind of sit there enjoy your time
have a have a glass of water
have a drink you know
whatever it is use the
use the restroom yeah
enjoy air conditioning cause they
they're all air conditioned so you can cool off
yeah oh
and I think it's a nice little break
after you get through everything
yeah I think it's
a great way to just start your vacation immediately
once you get off that plane
like
you're automatically just thrust into vacation mode
yeah you don't have to think
we're waiting for you exactly exactly
and VIP departure in Punta Cana
they have a swimming pool
yes so hahaha
like if your flight gets delayed
go find that lounge cause it has a swimming pool
maybe just keep one more bathing suit in your bag
I do I do remember
that's when we were coming back from Dr
one time will had like
we went into the VIP lounge and he goes
oh you know
there's a swimming pool here
like why did you not tell me to wear my swimsuit like
I would be in there right now with a cocktail
oh my gosh cause can you imagine
go to maybe this is the time
you go even earlier to the airport
so you can cool off before your flight
you're finally excited to be at the airport early right
so I think actually one thing that we didn't talk about
you know as we were prepping for this call
let's talk real quick about transportation
it's you know so and
and we've talked in previous episodes
about how we plan your transportation
and your guest transportation
and we wanna make sure everyone gets there safely but
but the transportation that we put you in is private
group transportation which is fantastic
it's great service uh
but you can upgrade from there if you want to
right that's so
you know any DMC
any transportation company that we are gonna work with
has that upgraded actually
I got a story on this it has that upgraded
VIP transportation if you want right
which is usually like
you know a
a suburban or a navigator escalator
something like that traveling in luxury
I will tell you that
I am now a passenger princess in travel
and when I arrive I don't care where I'm going it
I don't care if the drive is 20 minutes
I'm booking the Navigator
it's
there's just room there's
it's peaceful it's
you have your own private Wi-Fi
you can put on your own playlist like
and just have yourself a good time
leather seats I need a luxury vehicle
like I don't
I feel some type of way if you send me a van
so put me in put me in the Lexus
put me in the Mercedes put me in the navigators
do not put me in a van yeah
I don't wanna be in a van
this is what happens when you travel all the time right
you become bougie a stop my favorite
my favorite story on that though
I went to check out the new Hyatt Vivid Grand Island
and I love I love that property
but again it's a very short drive
it's like 15 20 minutes from the airport
I did uh
forget to book my transportation
so you know
the day before I reached out and uh
Lomas is our partner that we work with all the time
there in uh
in Cancun and I reached out to Lomas and said hey
can I get a a VIP arrival the
you know the
the upgraded transportation
yeah absolutely it's
and so they walk me out to the vehicle
and I've got a stretch suburban limo
and on the inside of the stretch Suburban Limo
is an entire Mexican themed party
I love it just for me
it was just me in this limo
I looked ridiculous pulling up to this resort hahaha
well you do
you do them a bit of money
so you know you're worth it
we do a lot of work with them
yep yep
it was it was a very kind gesture
um that's just not what I was expecting
goes into like
if someone within the wedding party
is celebrating a birthday or anniversary
we can decorate the the vehicle for them
we can give them a bottle of either tequila or
or champagne or whatever their drink of preference is
so you do have those options
that can meet you on arrival as well
absolutely
and there are some of our partners that we work with
that we can put together
an entire welcome bag for your guest
if you wanted something like that
right yes
it's so it's
you know all of these things
every little touch point that you think of
is a great place to just you know
set everything apart you know
make sure that everyone feels welcomed in their
in their um
you know in their arrival and in their trip
so now we're on site we're at the resort
I mean it's
we've talked about you know decor
we've talked about floral
we've talked about lighting and how
how expensive lighting can be
things like that but let's talk about some of those
like you know
like I said get out of the cookie cutter weddings
and some of those extras that we can uh
we can focus on so I think one of the more common ones
and this one we debated whether or not
talk about this on this episode
but I think one of the more common ones that is
actually usually has like
a package breakdown with the
with the resort is the Oroloca um
and for those of you that don't know what Hora Loca is
it literally translates to Crazy Hour
it's a really great way to get the party pumped
to get everyone you know
either there's a slump in the party
or you just want to hit it on a high note
right off the bat right
um but that Auto Loca is
almost every property will offer some sort of of
there's all kinds too
there are all kinds yeah
that's I we've seen one
so one at the retreat that we were at recently
they had uh that big beautiful
it was a uh
robot guy the Tron looking dude
yeah yeah
he had lights and all of his metal was all that
you know the Mexican floral decor
and it was beautiful it was a fun way to get
you know keep everyone on the dance floor
keep everyone open um
but what are some of the other ones that are out there
Nikki
um I've seen all white
mmm hmm I think different color schemes
you know um
they are great for the point in the evening
you've done the toast mmm hmm
all the the
the proper people have been thanked
grandma has gotten her hugs and kisses
and now we we're
we're done and now we
we need to get the dancing going
so this is where you have
sometimes you might just have
you might have girl dancers
boy dancers both dancers
you might have costumed people
you might have you know
Sambas and you know
merengues like
they will whatever you ask them to do
they'll figure out a way to do it
yep fans
you know the
the like
some of them look like straight up showgirls right
it's really fun those are priced
usually by the number of people that you want in it
right you can do it with four people
you can do it with 10 people
it's usually just kind of
however many people you want in that package is
is what it's gonna be priced out as
and that that kind of depends on how big your group is
you know it's yeah
you could get you could get three dancers
just to come and get people out of their seats
to get them started just to dance
you know and
or it could be a show so it's
it's a fun time I remember the
the retreat that will put together
before I was involved in the
in the agency in the university
um he had some dancers come out uh
and I didn't see what this was
until I was looking at the photos of the retreat
and seeing that the summary of it
prissy smiling she knows it's
so I was in a couple of those photos
yeah
you know they
at adults only resorts they can be a little more adult
a little more risque yeah yeah
so that was uh
it was hilarious it was fun
it was it was a big surprise
but it was it was a good time hahaha
um so then
you know as we're talking about
maybe some upgrades to the actual wedding day uh
you know obviously
most packages are either gonna come with a DJ or
you know this
the more traditional thing is to go with a DJ
but what we've had some of our couples do actually
Tanya and Brian
Tanya was on the podcast a few episodes ago
they had a live band
that easily sets your wedding apart right
it's not a inexpensive option um
but but it's worth it
it's worth every penny yep
these these bands at the
these properties hire are professional bands
they you know
they're out there performing at clubs
at bars you know
and then at for the weddings as well
and they do a phenomenal job
and they do a
a great job of keeping everyone engaged in
you know in the reception
in making sure that everything stays moving
now
it does get a little pricey when we're talking bands
because it depends on how long you want it to go
if you have a three hour reception
most band sets are gonna be 45 minutes
which means that you're purchasing
technically that pack three times that's yeah
so you have to look at the cost
and see if it's something that you want to do
you know for the full evening of the reception
if you want to do it for a cocktail hour
you know
if it's just something that you want for a little bit
and then you switch over to a DJ
um but I think that live band just has such a nice
nothing compares to live music right nothing
yeah yeah
the I mean
the DJs do a phenomenal job
don't get me wrong and everyone has a good time
um but the band just kind of sets it apart
it takes it up a notch definitely
it does it does yeah
it's so now you know it's
let's talk like picture perfect moments for a second
it's you know
in the wedding in the reception
you can either do it for a entrance or I
you know
a lot of our couples will also do it for the exit um
and for the uh
the first dance
cause that first dance picture with the dip um
every once in a while
you'll see the cold fireworks behind them right
the cold fireworks it's the
we're not talking about the big exploding ones
we'll talk about that in a second
but that's
the cold fireworks are just literally on the floor
it's a little device that gets set off
yeah and it's
it's enough it's like 15 seconds of those things going
yeah just to get the picture right
um really cool upgrade
I feel like it's a little bit more of a common upgrade
than other ones um
but when you're looking to get that perfect shot
it just makes it stunning
and the sparklers that
walking through the sparklers
I love that one too yeah
sparklers yeah
we you know
we just had a couple that did the sparklers
not every property will allow them
so you have to you have to ask the property
if it's something that they'll allow on site
you know obviously it's a bit of a liability with the
with the sparklers you know
anytime you're letting people handle fire is haha
well their
their location was really great though
for OK for non flammable
OK things exactly
yeah haha yeah
it's this this particular wedding was at Casa de Compo
and not only was it at Casa de Compo
but in the amphitheater at Casa de Compo
which is just a stunning stunning venue
it's yeah
but um
that was completely open air
you know that we didn't have to worry about
other than people burning each other
we didn't have to worry about
fabrics going up in flames
or things like that right
um so the fireworks were allowed there
but that's I think that's a really cool one
back on the topic of entertainment hmm
so this when we did our retreat in
what was it 24
was the retreat at Ava um
which feels like a lifetime ago already
yeah um
hahaha
in 2024 we did our
our uh
retreat at Ava
and we had a couple different entertainment experiences
that weren't like
part of the normal autolocker
things like that right
it's I think one of the fun ones was the Mentalist
he was scary he was scary good
like
I was fighting him
you know so I think some things are
are meant to get people up and dancing
people get people up and moving
but this one was just kind of
get the conversation started and
you know a little bit of an icebreaker at the reception
for the people that maybe haven't met each other
but are sitting at the same table
or something like that so
the mentalist would walk around from table to table
and do little mind tricks
right that's
you know so there was a numbers one
there was a you drew a picture
and he guessed what was on the picture
which was insane on that I don't know how he did that
it's hahaha
but it's you know
that's something that just
kind of gets the conversation started
and when there's a time
where we might want it to be a little bit more quiet
it's a great way to to start there
and just kind of let things be a little bit more quiet
right there right
um we also had a
a team of acrobats
so yeah
so now we're not talking you know the
the other local yeah
they might be on stilts they might be dancing
but acrobats they're actually like
I mean she was standing on a table
on a ball on a platform
and then she was on top of it and yeah
you know balancing herself like how yeah
how are you doing this take that Cardi B challenge
it's I I mean
I don't have anywhere near the
the coordination to do that
the core strength like
it was impressive but it was something different right
it's um
let's talk my wedding for a second
that's so it's my wedding now
this is something I have been trying to get
at another wedding ever since
and that's most properties don't allow it
but it is a lot of fun when you can find it
that's we had a beer donkey
so the beer donkey was during our cocktail hour
um and again
just something to get people excited and
you know it was a picture opportunity
you know something that you don't see everywhere
but the little donkey was walked in
he had beers draped over his
his back and everyone could come up
grab a beer take a picture with the donkey
and just kind of get their
you know get the cocktail hours started
we did it then because you know
we were able to step away
and take our photos during the cocktail
right I don't know why you'd need a wedding
to have a beer donkey honestly
I just think it's everyday life
I feel like I could have them at our parties here right
we had an accordion a couple weeks ago
why not
it's I mean
there's so much fun stuff that you can do like that
we also on that same day
we had a mariachi band
when we were at our retreat recently
we had an all female mariachi band
that was cool yeah
that was cool
I think that's the thing is it
there's something for everyone's group
yeah and if you're like
oh well why
or Loki's too crazy for us
okay yeah
it could it might be yup
but there are other things there
are so many different things that
you know can be added at
at this expense or at a lower expense
right and give us your ideas
because we can come up with something
our partners we can find something that works for you
so definitely bring us your ideas
your vision
and let's make magic you know Chrissy
I think that's a really good point
that's you know
cause a lot of the times
I feel like our couples are just looking for
whatever the resort is gonna give them
as this is kind of what their vision is
and we'll pick from this list and what not
but there is so much stuff out there that you can do
that is not on the resort list
there might be an outside vendor fee there
you know might be something like that
so we have to budget for it
but there's so many
you know local
traditional experiences that you can have
that I think would you know
you're in another country
so have a little fun with it right
and they may not remember the color of your napkin
but they might remember this cute
little personalized tequila bottle
that someone put my name on
yeah right
they will remember that yeah
and that's so that
that kind of brings us to personalized favors right
it's the find you know
just like we did we
this was uh
Danny and Donny um
and so if anyone
if anyone needs their contact information
you can always reach out to us
we're more than happy to refer them
um but they came in
they did a phenomenal job at the retreat
doing these little favors
and they're all hand painted bottles
she
she kind of pre paints the beginning of them so that
you know it's
everyone's not waiting a half an hour for their
for their little bottle um
but she'll pre paint a little bit
and then they come in and you
you know they get their name added to it
you know with maybe some little additional uh uh
decor on there and then they have something
you know a little favor to take away from the wedding
and it's just it's fun
it's meaningful it's useful
it's tequila
what more can you ask for
absolutely absolutely
it's so I think you know this
there's a lot of things on the wedding day
that you can do extras for
that just kind of amp it up a little bit
if you have the budget to do it
we're not saying you have to do it
the things that are provided by the resort are
phenomenal and
you know it's
they'll it'll always be a good time
as long as we've budgeted properly for it
but these are things that you can do as that
a step you know
above and beyond that really
are gonna just kind of blow it out of the water
uh Jody
let's talk a little bit about food right
it's yeah
now obviously
when we do our planning we do our planning and we
you know we have
you know maybe some canopies at the
at the cocktail hour and
you know for dinner
we have the buffet or we have
you know a plated dinner
but there's more that you can do
above and beyond on the food right
give us a couple
if I'm at your wedding
and I see the churro truck pulling up right
automatically
gonna be my favorite wedding I've ever attended
hahaha
you can't talk you might get an extra check
I mean yeah hahaha
that's right best experience
hahaha that's right
or to keep your party going um
you can have late night pizza
late night tacos your guests really appreciate that
cause it might have been a while since dinner
this is gonna keep everybody entertained and fed
throughout the throughout the night
I think uh
you know what a lot of couples forget is that
you know the couples have been in their room
you know getting ready pretty much all day long right
but their guests have been at the pool
and they've been drinking
and they're only sobering up
sobering up enough to get to the
the ceremony that's
and then they continue drinking through cocktail
and then to the reception right
so there's a pretty good base going on already
at this point
even with dinner and what not ending the night
with a nice greasy taco or a nice
you know piece of pizza
some carbs that will help soak up some of that um
it's I think it's one of the more popular things that
that couples have been doing at the end of the night
just to you know
just to give them a little something extra
and like
like you said Jody
dinner might have been a couple hours ago
yeah
and you're dancing and you're keeping everything going
and at that point you know
10 11 at night
the number of restaurants that are open are now
you know getting down to a small account
right yes
you can go back to your room and get
you know room service
but I go to sleep on that pizza
might just save the day in the next morning
yeah yeah
it's so those are
those are awesome extras it's Nikki
talk to us a little bit about like
the kids at the wedding and
and you know
well so
you know I have four kids
um
if you have children at the wedding
it like
it's a good idea to maybe order them
make sure they have some chicken fingers
to keep snacking on
maybe order them a couple baskets of fries
somehow during the night just so they don't get cranky
they don't get tired
we know little people need their stuff
mm hmm
that's if they're having a math
if they're not at your wedding they're
they're fed in the room so
but it's good to have some
a few things that they can snack on and keep busy with
um you know kids
kids just they're happy
if they're happy everyone else is happy
absolutely it's
so now prissy
we're going to a wedding
we have an entire group of friends and family
that are there and
you know we're having this amazing time
leading up to the wedding right
I think one of the
you know one of the pieces that couples might miss
you know throughout the process
is there's so much stuff that happens
before you even get to the wedding day
mm hmm talk to us a little bit about content creators
oh
I like content creators
because it's like they're a guest
but they're also capturing content of your full weekend
so you don't have to wait for
you know the videographer and the photographers
to perfect everything
you're getting content
either day by day or in the moment
that you can look at
that you can share with the people who haven't come
so I think it's a really good investment
um they have some really great content creators
in destination that we partner with
so definitely I think it's
if you want to share your full experience
with the people at home
hire a content creator absolutely absolutely
they get a lot of the
they get a lot of the things you don't see
mm hmm so
you might have missed it you can't be everywhere
they're not necessarily
just following around the couple
they're following around grandma and grandpa and
you know your friends and
you know and not everyone's always in the same area
so
if they're able to kind of follow around the group and
you know stick their head in
they're gonna capture a lot of things
that you didn't see and now
you're gonna be surprised
at some of the content that you're seeing right
and you'll have it forever
video is everything like
you want all the video you can get
yep absolutely absolutely
so I that's
you know those content creators
like Prissy said
don't necessarily just think of them for the wedding
which you can do the wedding day
it's absolutely they can be there
and they can be capturing content there
but think of them for the entire weekend
and kind of just what that looks like and
and you know
making sure that you're capturing everything for that
we do work with a company called
we Work with a couple different content creators um
but one of the ones that we work in Mexico
is I'm just a romantic they are amazing
they do a phenomenal job so that's uh
we have a great time working with them
that's Talia and Dana um
from from I'm just a romantic
they're really good um
that's so now
now we're at the wedding and
you know of course
we have our photographer we might have a videographer
we might have a content creator
but capturing some of the more candid moments
you know it's a selfie moment right
um it's Jody
can you talk to us a little bit
about some of the other add ons
for wedding photography that
you know a lot of our couples try and work with
along the lines of photography
one of my favorite add ons is the video guest book
I just think that that's a blast
um it's not traditional
and it's a way for the guests to reiterate
how beautiful your wedding is
or what they've experienced there
again you may not get a chance to talk in depth to the
to the bridal couple
but this is a way for them later to
to review
and I can talk to them in front of this camera
about their churro truck right
hahaha yeah
I really liked it yeah
exactly hahaha
it's and Nikki
kind of on that same topic
it's I I was just at a wedding that had this
but tell us what a tone phone is
after the tone yeah
after the tone it's a little it
for all the young people out here
who never had a phone to dial or press the buttons
it's an actual phone but it digitally records messages
so it's gonna it's like the
you know you sign the guest book
I was here and it's like that
but you're leaving a little voice note like
oh my gosh Sarah
this was the most magical day
and you look just absolutely beautiful
and I'm so glad we were here
thank you for having us oh
there's my Margarita OK yeah yeah
that's on there too hahaha
I think you know
my favorite part of that is
you know it's
there are some people at your wedding who
you know like
I had my great aunt my great uncle that were there
that's they
they were yeah
sorry to your virgin Uncle Pete
I'm sorry they were older at the time
they are now really getting older
right and so that's
it would have been nice to have the
after the tone phone so I could hear them
that's not a that's not a big
big ticket item either okay
so um
it's kind of cute it's on Instagram
you guys you can check it out
but it's a little just a little thing
and it gives some of these little things
give people something to do in between like okay
you know we've got 3
4 hours here let me go
let me go take a picture over here in this photo booth
oh wait
there's a three 60 photo thing going around
and your new friends and family
your blended people get to do some of these together
so that kind of
brings community to your wedding and some great laughs
I love watching the like
if you look at them in chronological order
that's you know
it started off everyone was really great
they were having a good time
you know cute pictures in the booth
and then all of a sudden you know
shirts are off shirts are off
people are making out that's yeah hahaha
Chrissy that's kind of
on that same note
talk to us about some of the other booth options
at a wedding
oh so they have um
the photo booths
they have the ones that look like mirrors
I've even seen a photo guy
so it was like a guy in a costume shape
like a camera
that was running around taking pictures of people
so they're very creative with the photo booths
then you can do the flower walls
the three 60 booths yeah
like it's so many different ways to capture pictures
and photos at a wedding I think
I think that photo guy I know it sounds so cheesy
but he's but it was so much fun
like we were chasing him like exactly
like I really think he was running from me
like no more pictures for you
no more photos
you've had your turn right right
oh okay
so now the wedding's over
we're talking after the wedding right now
so that's everyone is
you know has had an amazing time
it's probably the day after and
you know
we want to give our guests a little something extra to
you know just express our appreciation for
thank you for being here yeah yeah
so it's I know
just one of the more you know
common ones that we do but it's always a great
consistent experience is the catamaran
right and the first thing that I'm gonna tell you
when you reach out to me
and you say that you want a catamaran
awesome do the sunset one
so let's be realistic about this
you're at an all inclusive resort
like I said earlier your guests are
you know drinking all day long the wedding day right
um not all of them obviously
but you know
that's a good number of them
there are gonna be people who may not be okay
waking up at 7 o'clock in the morning
to go meet the transfer
to get on a boat that's gonna be rocking like this and
hahaha oh the
the catamarans aren't
but the sunset timing of it
means you're seeing the sunset on the way back in
so this is a this is a late afternoon
you're not going out at sunset
you're coming back in at sunset
so people can sleep in the morning
they can get some a really good brunch
lunch
and then they're gonna meet you probably at like 2:30
3:00 and then it goes out for three hours
everyone loves this it is so much fun
everyone loves it um
and even even with the camera man there's
there's upgrades and different levels of the camera man
right that's so
most of them are gonna include some basic drinks
you know probably beer
maybe champagne um
usually they have like
a rum punch or something like that on there
national national drinks
and juices and sodas and things like that
yeah yeah
but then you can also have the option of upgrading food
right so they'll have a grill right on
on the boat and we're cooking up chicken
we're cooking up shrimp you know beef
whatever it is we have
you know a bite to eat
some snack while you're on the boat
right they go
they go from hot dogs to lobster
yeah
whatever you like whatever you want
yeah and then when we talk about the actual boat
first of all that's gonna be dictated about
you know the size of your group
right if you're bringing 20 people
that boat's gonna look a lot different
than if you're bringing 100 people
um it's
so there's
there's definitely different options on there
I think we act one group
who actually had to get two boats
you we yeah
if you have a really large group
they can get two and then put those
that little playpen thing out in the water
so at
with the splash pad so everyone can be like hey
I'm on your boat now oh
I'm going on your boat now
battle of the boats yeah
but but on the
on the note of the splash pad
then you're talking about
there's so many other things that they
you can add on as an experience
you can there's a slide
yep there's the ones that have the slides
there's you know
the splash pads the banana boats
the jet skis they got high ropes
it's uh huh yeah
there's so much stuff that you can do on these
so they're totally customizable
you can have whatever experience you want
we do work with partners both in Dr
and in Mexico um
that would be able to offer an experience like that
so that's you know
if it's ever a uh
something that you want to add on
it's all of our couples it's just a quick email to
to us saying hey
this is what we're interested in
and we have it on file
that we can send you all the pricing and
and breakdown of what you're looking at
and it that is something that
you know we have a lot of referrals
yep um
they'll be like oh
they had it at their wedding
we're having it ours too it was so much fun
we're doing it again we want our people to have it too
so if that's a really popular one yep
but if you think your group is gonna
they're not gonna be that energetic

so this you know
like Nikki said there's other options
and a lot of our couples
you know there are some couples that will
you know each guest
will pay for their experience on their own
and everyone will just go as a group
and there's some of our couples
that will pay for the entire experience
for the group and just as you know
like I said thank you
but there's other excursions that you can look at right
mm hmm it's
so I was in Costa Rica um and
uh we were staying at the dreams there
and uh
the couple that was throwing the wedding
I was there as a guest the uh
the couple that was throwing the wedding
did a four Wheeling excursion
so they had they had
we've had the we've had the guys do that
like as the batch thing the
the night before
like so girls were doing something
guys went four Wheeling there's
if you want it we'll find it
yeah hahaha
it's now let's talk about staying on property
and some of the things that you can do on property
as some of the extras right
and there is gonna be a huge range here
of what these things look like
right so on
like a little bit more of the common end
but still doing a privatized event
it's prissy earlier you had mentioned like
private tequila tasting private wine tasting
tell us a little bit about what that looks like
as a group
you bring all your people together
and you set the tone for what you guys wanna taste
so if you wanted to go through a wine experience
some resorts have wine cellars
where you guys can have it there
or they may section you off somewhere else
so you're
you're pretty much only limited to your imagination
as far as how
how deep you can go with these experiences
but um
we can taste it all they
you know Mexico has a lot of like
regional wines so some resorts
they can give you an experience with
just wines from Mexico so whatever you want
we can figure out how to make it happen
absolutely absolutely
if you have a group that's a little healthier
I can tell you I would not attend this
but it's optional right
it's optional it's the hahaha
you can also put together like
private exercise classes you know
a cycling class uh
you know something like that
that gets yoga
yeah yoga yeah
the gets the entire group moving
but most properties are gonna be able to offer
a privatized experience like that
if you plan ahead and you know
have it ready for them when they arrive right yep
cigar rollers you can have the cigar rollers come in
and maybe add that to your welcome party
um if a property has a lot of pools
you can probably privatize one of the pools
and have your own foam party or something
but bring us your ideas we can definitely
you know make that work
and if you know
you want something like that
it would be good to know that earlier in planning
so we can let you know which
which properties have 13 pools
so it's nothing for you to section off one
right for your own private pool party
right that's
you know uh
Nikki and I are working on a group right now that's
that
they privatized every cabana in the space for two days
ha ha ha ha
they're I want it all
they're gonna be some annoyed guests
you know on those days
but it's an option right
you that's
you basically taken over that pool
it's a nice option for the day after
okay so maybe we don't have enough people
want to get on the water or go off
yeah you can rent a couple cabanas maybe okay
we're gonna get some you know
salsa lessons by the pool or um
let's paint some fans or some hats
and that just keeps it
the experience going for your guests
for your families and friends and
you know
for the ones that are still staying and haven't left
right after the wedding and I think
and I like that
because it allows them to enjoy the resort
a lot of times with weddings
you're taking them away for the welcome party
you're taking them away for the
the wedding and the reception
so allowing them to enjoy
some of the amenities on the resort
and you just you know
picking up a couple of cabanas or something
it's a nice way to tie everything together
absolutely absolutely
you know those and those cabanas
a lot of times you know
what you don't realize
is there's upgrades that go along with those
as well it's
you know
most of them will include bottle service for the
you know for the cabana
so now you got some bottles set up for yourself
you're not waiting on waiters to come
I've seen you get a foot massage that's yeah
go to live Aqua go to live Aqua
that's and they
you know when you rent their cabana
it comes with a 20 minute
20 minute foot massage
that was the best 20 minutes of my trip
oh and they have all
they have all that good food out there too so
oh they've got Oreo
yeah so
I mean you could get your
you just casually oh
we're gonna be over here in the pool
in these cabanas between 2 and five PM
drop in we have someone doing this
absolutely it's
and then the
the final one that I want to touch on is just a
I mean obviously this is an extremely
like one property thing
like this is not
this is not everywhere um
but let's talk about Nikki
tell us a little bit about one of the extras
that you can do at Costa de Campo
the donkey polo
the donkey polo yes
everyone just go right now
Google Costa compa donkey polo
pull it up on your phone cause you're gonna love it
then then come back and we'll get you the room
yeah
we may go and play donkey polo with you
I would absolutely go play donkey polo
I cannot believe the number of times
that I've been to that property
and I haven't done donkey polo yet
I haven't done it it's how many times
hi um
but this is a very specific um
thing to this property they have a polo
a real polo club yeah
they have a dude ranch they have horses
they have all the professional people
taking care of these animals
they are well kept so um
which is important to me
I don't want to go get on a sad scrawny yeah
horsey mule
you know like
I think that this one is hysterical
like just really Google it
I think the moral of the story is
no one likes sad donkeys it's no one likes a sad ass no
exactly exactly
i'mma open the tequila now man
oh my god
alright it's ladies
anything else
any extras that are popping into your head
that you wanna talk about
before we before we jump off
there's so many it's so many that I
I think the the point is is
is really when you do a destination wedding
it's about guest experience
I it is about the wedding
it's about all of that but
you are taking your friends and your family
on this journey with you
to another country to a beautiful location
you can enhance it in small ways that aren't huge
from your pocketbook and if you
you know if you feel like you want to do some splurges
they're there too
there's just a lot that can really add to your group
if you have older people
think about having some comfortable chairs for them
like if they need to sit
you don't want them you know
if you have children you need to think about that too
